Whoa, as usual, I’m very taken with your work. There’s so much happening in these; I’m going to have to sit with them, my favorite kind of poetry. The poem from 05.27.26 called to me most strongly today.
This is crazy and trippy. How long does it cover? The part with text on either side of a margin and it reads top to bottom and side to side was insane.
Thanks so much, Hawt! This collection spans late March to a few days ago.
The most recent is the one you’re referring to: that form’s called a contrapuntal, and is becoming an obsession of mine—I’m especially enjoying building them out of other poets’ work.
You need to make sure that the right column is either cohesive or combative with the left & also that it’s a logical read left to right across rows. It’s like the Venn diagram meets excel sheet of poetry.
There’s several incredible poets here experimenting with the form. @ Ani Beeler might be more obsessed than I am. @ Marissa Zhu won my most recent poetry contest with one. & @ Jay Noah Garrick and I have one appearing in a literary magazine soon that we co-authored.
Could go on about this for days, but the long & short is I appreciate you reading and I hope your taking time & finding ways to heal.
Some excellent work in here
Thanks so much for spending time with it!
What a collection, JC! You are inspiring me to break free with form (and to expand my vocab!) amazing work as ever 🖤
Thanks so much, Suzie & most of all for your lovely contribution!
Stunning collection, love it!
Thank you! It’s always surprising to see how much I’ve written when I lay it all out like this.
So true, must try this one day. Still can’t get over Cryoseism. Wonderful x
